Show your awesome retrieval chops by collecting one of the NOAA/OSU drifting buoy hydrophone recorders in August as you leisurely cruise back from Hawaii. There are two buoys and by August they will have collected a year's worth of whale recordings.

We expect one to be at (about) 38N x 135W and other to be (around) 35N x 142W.  Weighing 60 pounds, this 24" databuoy has already been floating for 8 months. Contribute to this important research and win the grand prize of $300 (each) by collecting a buoy and returning it to land. Position updates will be available every 4 hours.
