I bought my first sailingboat 1980.
It was a "Nordisk Folkbåt".
Built around 1940 for the construction competition for the new class "Folkbåt".
Our boat Ibis was clinker-built in varnished pine.
She looked similar to this one.

First years we kept Ibis in the Baltic Sea.
Navigating only with compass and calculating the drift.
(no instruments)
Later we´ve had larger sailing boats, most recently a 39 foot catamaran.
A Prout Escale we bought in England and levered out of the tidal mud.
Crossing the North Sea made my keen on trying longer passages.
